With Gas prices at $4 a gallon now is the time to ride your bike for more than just recreation.  Here are some events you can take part of that may motivate you.  Also, check out some of the great commuter style bikes we have available and save some money on gas!

Team Bike Challenge
Gather your friends, colleagues, and co-workers and get ready to pedal everywhere during the month of May!  The Team Bike Challenge encourages bicycle commuters to form teams of 2-5 people and score points for each day any team member rides his or her bike.  This friendly competition lasts the whole month of May and the team with the most points at the end of the month wins a grand prize!  Learn more and sign up now (starts May 1) at www.511.org.

Saturday, May 10 - Mayor's Bike Ride, 10:00am
Join Mayor Pamela Torliatt for an easy group ride to kick off Bike to Work/School Week.  The ride will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:45am to celebrate the completion of an integral segment of the Petaluma Ring Trail on the north side of the SRJC campus.  Meet at the bridge on the trail.  This will be a great opportunity for people to see and discuss Petaluma's alternative transportation facilities with the Mayor and get some exercise along the way!  This is an event for the entire family, and everyone is required to wear a helmet.

May 12-16 is Bike to Work/School Week!
For each day during Bike to Work/School Week that you bike to work, school, or shopping, complete one "I Commuted by Bike" entry card to enter a drawing for great prizes.  Cards will be available at Bici Sport, City Hall, and Energizer Stations.
